Two music stars on a dreamy desert video shoot surrounded by beautiful imagery. The gorgeous sunsets, mountains and sand should act as the perfect backdrop for a ballad like Kris Allen‘s second single, The Truth, but oddly enough, it doesn’t. It seems the video, much like the revamped version of the song which features Train frontman Pat Monahan, never truly comes together.
One of the biggest sour notes is trying the figure out just how Monahan makes sense in the grand scheme of things. He receives just one set up where he sings in the middle of the desert with a microphone. He looks pretty lost and his nonexistent storyline fails to blend in with the entire video’s rather weak concept.
The Truth is only the second single to be release from Kris Allen’s nearly one-year-old self-titled debut album. The former American Idol star has been riding high off the success of his first release, the The Script cover Live Like We’re Dying.
